Rice Puffs, Nuts and Seed Granola -GF

The difference between muesli and granola -

Granola - Developed in USA in the 1890s. Made with oats, nuts, seeds and dried fruit but can be also used with other grains.

Muesli - Developed by a Swiss physician in the 1900s. Made with rolled oats, ground almonds, lemon juice, condensed milk and apple.

This is a gluten free recipe that can be used to top hot fruit as a crumble, a breakfast with your choice of milk or a snack.

Rice Puffs, Nuts and Seed Granola recipe

Gluten Free

3 cups rice puffs - made from rice only

1 cup seeds - mixture - pine nuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds or any other seeds

1/4 cup mixed dried fruit - cut into small pieces

2 tbsp coconut oil - melted

3 tbsp brown rice malt syrup, maple or honey - I used the malt syrup

1/4 cup coconut

Method

Oven 150 c - oven tray lined with baking paper

1 -  Mix all but the dried fruit and scatter on a  lined tray and bake for 20 - 30 minutes or until crispy brown. Then add the fruit.

Cool then place in an airtight jar.
