Eating jam is one of the sweetest food you may every eat. So much white sugar is added to bought jam, it is there just to make it thick.
In this recipe I use chia seeds with thicken this jam and I add brown rice malt syrup or honey. Keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
2 cups frozen or fresh berries
1/4 cup water
4 tbsp chia seeds
brown rice malt syrup or honey to taste about 3 tbsp, it depends on what berries you use.
Option 1
Method
1 - Place berries, water and honey in a pot. Bring to the boil.
2 - Stir in the chia seeds and pour into a clean jar.
3 - Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Option 2
Method
1 - Place all ingredients, except, leave a few berries whole if you would like, in a blender. Blend and pour into a clean jar, you can now add the whole berries.
Place in the fridge, It will thicken. The chia seeds soak up the liquid. You can add more chia seeds if it is still to runny with in a few hours.
